A note from Ed: One of the best ways is to improve your speaking skills, is through videos & podcasts. Not everyone has access to a physical stage, but everyone has access to a camera!
It’s something I encourage my clients to do: get comfortable showing up, sharing their expertise, and becoming known as a ‘go-to’ person in their niche.
The added benefit? By demonstrating credibility through content, you become far more “bookable” for actual in-person speaking events.
Here’s a collection of my recent content to dig into…
I joined Phil Bray on the Yardstick Webinar to share my top tips for being a better communicator, presenter, and public speaker.

I break down Jack Ma’s use of storytelling and public speaking skills, in this interview at the World Economic Forum, including:
I break down Jocko Willink’s public speaking performance in his TED talk titled “Extreme Ownership”.
Discussing how communication skills can build aligned teams, with executive leadership coach and team trainer, Maria Kelly.
A deep-dive into attention, connection, and how to be “less boring” when sharing your message – with copywriter, Vicki Handley.
Exploring the secrets of Leadership Communication with expert leadership coach, Stephen Lock.
How to create a powerful personal brand by leveraging the power of public speaking, with Personal Branding expert Danielle Clarke.
Revealing the 8 biggest presentation mistakes that are ruining your credibility as a speaker, and how to avoid them.
I joined Daniel James on the Prime Life Project to talk about all things public speaking. We cover the symptoms of social anxiety, how and why the fear public speaking exists, and what you can do to calm the nerves.
It was a great discussion with Daniel, and our conversation ended up delving into more spiritual realms – exploring why people have a problem with silence, the fear of judgement, and much more.

100% recommendation rate! All attendees gave you a 10 on how likely they would be to recommend the workshop to peers!
Here’s a summary of the group’s feedback from the session:
Ideas that resonated with the group the most:
Presentation Structure: Key techniques like planning, the “rule of three,” and the power of pausing.
Audience Engagement: Effective strategies such as the “audience hug” and balanced eye contact (“light housing”).
Public Speaking Elements: Focus on body language, voice modulation, and mindset.
Vocal Variety & Filler Words: Importance of vocal variety and minimising filler words.

“Was nervous going into the class, worried that it would be a bit school-like or based more in acting (which it was not). Thoroughly enjoyed the experience – would love to do it again later on in the year/next year to look see how my skill has (hopefully) improved.”
“I thoroughly enjoyed this workshop and was highly impressed with Ed.
